Top 5 Bollywood Actors in 2015- Picked by Shoby
Here is the second part of series Bollywood Top 5 for the year 2015 and in this feature I'll discuss about the best performers (male) for the year.
Number 5: (Dhanush in Shamitabh)- Dhaunsh was truly an excellent find when did his first Bollywood movie Anand L Rai' Raanjhna in 2013. R Blaki casted him in his film Shamitabh and he just sparkled in this solid author backed role. It was tough to play a deaf & mute wannabe actor in front of a mega super star like Amitabh Bachchan but he did it with extreme authenticity. He was so natural in his enactment and this awesome performance was acclaimed by critics as well. Way to go Dhanush.
Number 4: (Ajay Devgan in Drishyam)- He played a solid character with Rough & tough looks playing a responsible family head with ease. This thriller depended upon his shoulders and he took the project to another level by his natural way of acting.
Number 3: (Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Manjhi- The Mountain Man)- No doubt Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one of the best character actors in Bollywood right now and he has proved his mettle in many movies. This year too he has done some excellent work in movie like Badlapur and Bajrangi Bhaijaan but the magic he created by portraying the role of unsung hero Dhashrat Manjhi in Ketan Mehta's Manjhi- The Mountain Man is simply out of this world. He played the demanding character with his utmost simplicity and it appeared like it was only Nawazuddin who could have played this challenging role with such a class & comfort. Praised by critics & loved by public, he is deservingly at number 3 in my favourite's list of 2015.
Number 2: Ranbir Kapoor in Tamasha- Although Imtiaz Ali disappointed many of us with his much anticipated Tamasha, it was Ranbir Singh who still managed to get public's attention, as he played the role of a psychologically complex person by perfect authority. He made the challenging role looked so easy. Look at the transition he brings in his character after he returns from Corsica. Tamasha is one of the best performances that he made in his career.
Best Actor of 2015: (Ranveer Singh in Bajirao Mastani): Supremely talented actor Ranveer Singh gets a role of his lifetime in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Bajirao Mastani. He portrayed the warrior lover poet who is passionately in love with Mastani. To me, his acting in this movie is his career's best performance. Due share of credit should go to Bhansali sb who made him stay composed and never allowed him to go over the board. Not even in a singly frame he looked artificial. Although he has a long way to go but he will surely cherish this character of Peshwa Bajirao for years to come.
Apart from the above listed, R. Madhavan was also superb in Tanu Weds Manu Returns. Salman Khan's performance in Bajrangi Bhaijan was also excellent. Varun Dhawan played the role of an enraged guy in Badlapur beautifully. Akshay Kumar was pitch perfect in Baby & Ghabbar is Back.Bug B's performances in both Piku & Shamitabh are praise worthy. Prabhas in SS Rajamouli's Baahubali was also a treat to watch.
