December 17, 2015 (Day After 16 December)- Article by Shoby
December 16th 2015 (just yesterday), when we commemorated the first martyrdom anniversary of APS Peshawar, we Pakistanis were looking like One Proud Strongest Nation of the planet. We posed like one solid nation with clear goals and objectives. We were like a solid nation with a clear ambition and that was just to bring peace & prosperity back in our homeland by defeating all evils including terrorism. We were united and chanted slogans like #WeRemember #NeverForget #CrushhTTP #CrushTerrorism #WeAreUnited ...
And Today... On 17 December, 2015 unfortunately we have forgotten what we promised to ourselves and what commitment we have shown in front of the world. Though it is hard to swallow but bitter reality is we are NOT a nation at all in larger frame of life, rather a bunch of people divided in many domains. The biggest dilemma is that as soon as we got back to the daily routine life, we have once again found ourselves standing right where we were standing before.
Now, each one of us is proud to be a specific cast or creed. Each one of us now belong to a specific school of thought and we all are extremists on what we believe, with zero tolerance for each other. We all are now a representative of a specific political party and are endorsing their particular ideas & concepts. Isn't it the biggest hypocrisy???
I may sound a bit bitter but believe me guys, each one of us has actually forgotten that more than 85000 innocent lives have been sacrificed by us. And if we have forgotten the importance of these sacrifices, it is almost stupid to think that we know on what reasons our nation has sacrificed this much. No one knows the prime collective national objective and everyone is happy (in fact delighted) while focusing on the individual benefits & goals.
History has shown that every natural calamity we have been through like Earthquakes & Floods or every terrorist attack we have faced like APS & Hazara events, we have become united but this turned out to be a temporary transition and ultimately we have returned to our daily life's routine, enjoying the bounties that we currently posses without thinking about others as a Nation.
I believe, it is the high time, we all should quit the policy of "Sit Back & Relax" and start thinking about the collective betterment. These sacrifices should not be wasted. We all should strive hard to pin point who is the actual enemy of Pakistan and we should all join hands for ever in order to win this on going battle. Pakistan should be our first & top most priority. Remember Pakistan is our one & only identity. Feel proud about being Pakistan and cherish what ALLAH has bestowed upon you in form of this Pak land.
