Ki And Ka- Music Review by Shoby

Ki And Ka- Music Review by Shoby

2 Hearts out of 5

R Balki always comes up with unique stories and to correlate the concepts, he manages some really unheard tunes. His earlier films (Cheeni-Kum, Paa & Shamitabh) are clear illustrations of the same. He is back with his Kareena Kapoor & Arjun kapoor starrer Ki & Ka. However this time beside his favorite composer Illayaraja, Meet Bros Anjann & Mithoon have also contributed in the album.

Just like its title, we are expecting a very unique soundtrack. Let's analyse, what he has in his kitty this time for us.

High Heels- Already a chart buster track by Meet Bros Anjjan & Honey Singh, this track is re-done by these artists to make it even more fun. It should be the party number for the time with some fast paced instrumental working. And some lyrics that will surely bring smile to your face. Mujh ko na pehchaney tu, tere ghar akhbaar nai aata.

Jee Huzoori- A very unique sad track with very hoenst lyrics sung by Mithoon & Deepali composed in a semi classical style. It must appeal to those who like to listen different kind fo music. Mohabbat hai yeh, Jee Huzoori nahi.

Most Wanted Munda- Another track by Meet Bros Anjjan which introduced you to the character of "Ka". He is the most wanted munda, kehti hai her kudi. Lyrics of this song clearly demonstrate the happy go lucky and damn care attitude of the character who is like an eye candy for all the girls in the town.

Foolishq- Here comes the nightingale Shreya Ghoshal joining hands with latest sensation Armaan Malik. Foolishq should read as "Fool Ishq". It gives a real picture of the charm of love with the twists that are embedded within this most strange (read unorthodox) relationship.

Pump It (The Workout Song)- Meet Bros Anjjan gives you the number which will be accompany you in your workout times. Just forget everything else, turn on the volume & work your heart out. It may work as the backdrop in the movie I reckon, where Arjun will be shown as having some class gym time.

Kabir Most Wanted Munda- This is another version of Most Wanted Munda, yet again done by Meet Bros Anjjan. It is a bit more pacey & use of transitions in sound make it a bit different from the previous version.

Kapoor And Sons- Trailer Review by Shoby

Kapoor And Sons- Trailer Review by Shoby

Shakun Batra's upcoming Rom-Com titled Kapoor & Sons is looking so promising with its trailer hitting the right chord. Its all about some marvelous acting display by the ensemble cast primarily including Fawad Khan, Siddharth Malhotra, Aliya Bhatt & Rishi Kapoor.

Trailer starts off with a nice happy go lucky sort of family affair where reunion of two brothers is shown and as it progresses it turns out to be an intense family-romance saga, which will be unfold more clearly when the film releases.

No points for guessing that Fawad, Siddharth & Alia have given their best shots and in a few sequences it is nearly impossible to judge who comes out better than the other. If Fawad & Siddharth are looking two strong actors, Alia is looking dazzling innocent beauty.

Music is also looking to be much promising and this film will surely shine in the skyline of Bollywood this year.

Namal (Episode 19)- Review by Shoby

Namal (Episode 19)- Review by Shoby

This one starts with a scene where Faras is shown having a discussion being totally demotivated (read disbelieved) and Atish (one of the fellow captives) tells him the story of a Momin with a Barber who claims that he does not believe there is any GOD. He symbolically explains that "Balkay woh is haalat mein is liye hain... Kiyo ke woh mere paas nahi atey"...

So we got the master stroke monologue from Nimrah Ahmed in the episode where she writes, "Faaras sab kuch tha... Bus gher nahi tha..."

Haroon Ubaid asks his guards to get rid of Saadi and Col. Khawar in his private jail by killing them. Khawar approaches Saadi and asks him to escape with him so that he may provide his Attestation for his innocence. But before escaping, he wants Saadi to train for self defence.

One of my most favourite quotes regarding Tafseer of an Ayat e Mubarika in the whole series is here. Read the golden words... "Logo jab tum per koi aik mushkil ati hai to hum is ke sath tumhain aik asaani detey hain or phir ussi mushkil ke sath aik or asaani bhi detey hain." Nimra is 110% correct and I do believe, QURAN e PAK is amazingly awesome.

This time Nimra introduces us with a beautiful definition of yet another word... Khashiyat (Mohabbat bharra Darr). And then without being preachy, she delivers an outstanding reason of Why to offer Namaz especially Namaz e Fajr. I hope we all get a perfect lesson from this beautiful oration.

Bhabhi aa nahi rahi... Bhabhi aa gai hai... Sadaqat brings the bride home from the village. Nimra cant let the light moment just slip away so here was her chance to bring the smiles. Haseena (Sadaqat's wife) & her conversation with Hanna. Meanwhile Hanna is on a brand new mission now. To be the most organized girl of the country  (ALLAH Kher kare :p ) Laughing out Loud.

A pen with cyanide coating is being provided to Aabdaar Ubaid by Faras so that she can hand it over to Saadi, as she is yet to interview him about his NDE (Near Death Experience). Aabdar is doing it, just for the sake of love (Bajney lagey hain shankh se mann mein :-) )... Quite an interesting sort of a twist in tale. I loved the way Aabi gave dodge for security clearance. Aabi U genious.

Bravo work done by Faras by being a self witness and then Zimer by converting the aura of the case and making it a Case of Two Versions. And as expected, result is so positive. Faras has been released by the court and proven innocent.

I just want to ask, Zimer! tu aisa kiyo karti hai yaar??? Homecoming of Faras is welcomed by everyone and here is Zimer for you being totally different (read rude), who wants to file a Restraining Order so that Faras will stay away at least 10 steps. Hai Koi Tukkkkk... :-(

Very last scene of the episode is a beautiful blend of thrill & knowledge. Just after extracting some awesome lessons from the story of Hazrat Loot (asws), Saadi manages a narrow escape when guard tries to kill him. However in self defence, he kills the guard with the poisoned pen. This is the first murder of the yet innocent Saadi and GOD knows where the story goes from here onwards.

Sanam Re- Movie review by Shoby

Sanam Re- Movie review by Shoby

0.5 Heart out of 5

Here is the recipe of a Divya Khosla Kumar's film. Hire some extraordinary musicians, arrange some real melodious melodies amalgamated with awesome lyrics & a foot tapping party number with peppy liners... Search for breathtaking locations with loads & loads of snowfall & rains & shot them with jaw dropping cinematography and put some non-sense sort of comedy and here is the film for you... Wait I forgot the basic ingredient- the story. Unfortunately I did not forget it, as Divya's films lack this much needed thing.

I gave her the margin of error in Yaariyan considering it her very first attempt and I thought she might flourish in upcoming movies but unfortunately instead of getting some lessons she further doomed in terms of story & script.

Sanam Re is simply nothing except breath taking snowfalls & rains and beautiful sound track & background score. There is no story at all to talk about and no solid performance to regard. In fact, the most sorrowful part of the movie is that iconic Rishi Kapoor has been brutally wasted with nothing to do in the movie. No one from the lead actors put any mark as such.

Story roams around from one place to another for no specific reason and there are so called twists & turns which have everything but logic.

The only escape for the movie is its brilliant musical score. With Sanam Re, Hua Hai Ajj Pehli Baar & a few other songs, they are a treat for sure.

One honest opinion, please save your money & much valuable time by ignoring this complete waste of cinema.

Ki And Ka Trailer- Review by Shoby

Ki And Ka Trailer- Review by Shoby

Traditionally they say, in a couple, man should be doing all the money earning and female is responsible for managing household responsibilities. What happens if the table turns 360 degrees. Check this trailer of R Balki's next Ki And Ka Starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor.

R Balki, the man behind some real path breaking cinema with films like Cheeni Kum, Paa & Shamitabh in his kitty is back with a bang and this time its all about solid punch of entertainment. Ki & Ka's trailer promises thorough entertainment and that too in loads & load of bunches.

Kareena Kapoor Khan is looking pitch perfect in her role of an ambitious young wife and I am really expecting her career's best here. Same goes for Arjun Kapoor. I have not find any super performance from this guy after Ishaqzaade but this film is surely going to be a game changer for him too.

Music has the tarka of Punjabi flavour and it is looking great with the proceedings. I cant wait for this grand roller coaster. Thumbs up.

Seyah Hashia (Episode 10)- Review by Shoby

Seyah Hashia (Episode 10)- Review by Shoby

Seyah Hashia is back with new twists & turns. Looks like thr roller coster of events is not taking any break as we got to see some major advances in the story.

Hashim is declared an atheist quite catalytically by the author with a few scenes showing how negative he thinks about different religions & their core concepts especially Islam. At the start of the episode, Bakhtawar was still ambiguous regarding his thoughts but right at the end of the episode her assumptions turn into reality.

Adeena comes face to face with Abdullah while visiting a Chinese Restaurant in Islamabad with Oreeda but she denies to meet him. On another note, Abdullah tells his story (which is still kept under dust by the author) to Oreeda who feels she has not came across such sort of life in her life.

Shanzay completes her first TV serial and when it comes to the knowledge of Sarmad, he becomes resentful but even then helps her for arranging accommodation as she has been kicked out of the hostel by the warden.

Beenish wants Arsam to marry his foreign return cousin Arsala but Arsam refutes the proposal straight forward. Meanwhile, Beenish arranges their Engagement ceremony, which comes as a shocker and rightly so for Oreeda who become gloomy.

Flashback from the past shows that Bakhtawar gives birth to two baby girls and one of whom them dies right after the birth. Unfortunately the other baby which she named Fatima also dies after a few days leaving her in a state of sadness & depression. Hashim tries to heel her and cooperates with her in a very good manner but she thinks she has been punished for some sin of sorts.

Another pertinent thing from the past to be mentioned here is that on seeing Beenish making fun of his family members, Taimoor refutes marrying her and for no surprise to anyone he proposes Bindya, who is engaged with one of her cousins in her village.

Aapa Saleha (Adeena's mother) has been diagnosed with the cancer but she forbids Bay jee & Mona to disclose the disease in front of Adeena as she thinks it might effect her studies.

Arsam asks Oreeda not to worry as he wants to do the same what Taimoor uncle has done in the past but Oreeda refuses to take any negative step. This further annoys him and he leaves for the hostel without even telling Beenish.

As discussed earlier, episode ended on a strong note where Bakhtawar got surety about Hashim being an atheist. This one is interesting as upcoming episodes will disclose what would be her decision after getting the clear picture.

Abdullah's entry in the episode created a perfect drama and it would be an exciting thing to see what happens next. Plus his story is yet to be revealed after plane crash.

Aab e Hayat (Episode 16)- Review by Shoby

Aab e Hayat (Episode 16)- Review by Shoby

Lets set the things right from the start. Aab e Hayat is on the verge of a modification in terms of its treatment. As many of us have been thinking, Umera is lingering on the novel without any visible drama occurring in between, this episode is the answer.

First sequence is probably the most dejected one till date. Hameen reveals that Jibreel cries out daily in nights due to something which he knows as well but will not disclose as he has promised it with him. Later on Salaar tells Amama that Jibreel knows about his illness and is trying to find cure of his disease. When Amama asks, what did Jibreel said to him. He utters, "Papa! Main aap ko martey huey nahi dekh sakta".

Yet another dimension regarding Salaar's character is revealed. he has been writing his auto biography and wants Amama to publish it if result of operation comes otherwise. Salaar gives it the title of "Taash" whereas Amama wants to give it the title of "Aab e Hayat".

Scene where Hameen hugs Jibreel to finish his anger is cute. "Tumhain pata hai, main bacha hoon" assures us that Hameen is still a kid at least with respect to his biological age.

Salaar along with his five other partners inaugurates first ever Global Islamic Investment Fund named as SIF (Samar Investment Fund).

Amama decides to be with Salaar during his surgery and meanwhile asks Jibreel to take care of siblings. That one moment when Jibreel notices white hairs on Amama's head is literally full of sorrow. "Woh is ki zindagi ke haasil o mehsool ka sab se behtareen, sab se munaafa bakhsh hissa tha".

And look here is the most anticipated turn of the story. Something that we all have been waiting for since so long. Something that could really turn the tables for the tale of Aab e Hayat. Here is Umera Ahmed with her very own class for which she is famous. His father dies when he was 10. He fell in love at the age of 11. And he can be no one else than Jibreel.

Spell Bee contest scene appears at the end of the episode and as I predicted earlier, it features Hameen and Raeesa.

I sum up the review by saying only one sentence. Undoubtedly this one was the most emotional episode of Aab e Hayat. Thumbs up Umera Ahmed. It will be so interesting to read the story post Salaar's operation.

Other players to be watched closely in the team are Shane Watson, Andre Russell, Sam Billings, Umar Amin and Babar Azam. With a good mix of young & experienced players, this team has the potential to deduce good results on the day.
