Amjad Sabri Gone- Blood is Cheaper than Water Here- Article by Shoby

Amjad Sabri Gone- Blood is Cheaper than Water Here- Article by Shoby

I belong to a nation where my people are blessed with diverse skills & abilities. My country Pakistan has produced top class personalities in almost every walk of life. From sports to music, from performing arts to science, we have got the talent in real sense and same has been showcased by few of the greats in all fields but alas I belong to the state where blood of a common person is much cheaper than every other thing even water.

Today (June 22, 2016), we have lost yet another gem of a personality, the successor of famous Sabri qawaal family- Sir Amjad Hussain Sabri. Amjad sb was a true artist by every mean. As he was born in December 23 in the famous qawaal/ musical family and stunned everyone by his sheer talent. Being a musical prodigy, he continued the legacy of his late father Mr. Ghulam Fareed Sabri and further established the name of his family by reciting Naats & Qawaalis not only in Pakistan but all over the world. Today it feels like the era of qawaali is almost gone, as far as Sabri family is concerned, as Amjad Sabri has been murdered brutally in Karachi.

Now I am wondering why a humble person like Amjad Sabri, who has no enmity with anyone has been killed and honestly I cant get any solid reason. Is it so, because he was a lover of RASOOL PAK (saww) and HIS noble family. Is it so, because he used to recite Naats & Kalaam in the praise of Prophet MOHAMMAD (saww), IMAM ALI (asws) and the sacred Family. Is it so because he was a true Aashiq e RASOOL (saww) & AHL e BAIT (asws).

Recently we have seen famous journalist  Khurram Zaki being murdered in Karachi. Two years back, Professor Taqi Hadi & Professor Sibt e Jafer were also murdered in target killing. These two great personalities have no enmity with anyone and they  all were innocents. Then why have they been killed and who killed them. What is the mindset behind all this. Who does not want positive & decent minds to live long in Pakistan.

Murder of Amjad Sabri depicts how badly the government has failed to provide security to the citizens. Forget about ordinary public, even artists & celebrities with great repute are no more safe now. I am sorry to say that they always deploy grand security measures when it comes to the security of politicians & so called leaders of political parties. I have no issue with the same but what will these politicians answer when they will be asked by The GOD that you did this much for yourself but what about those who were under your rule. Upon whom you were enjoying your kingship. How you guided the right of the public, which was your responsibility.

Today each & every true lover of RASOOL PAK (saww) & a patriotic Pakistani is demanding one thing. We need nothing but justice. We want the real culprits of this hideous crime being dealt with logical & acceptable justice.

Government has to take necessary measures to ensure the safety of public, especially those who are the representatives of our society & culture. But unfortunately, the so called leaders of the nation are not interested in fulfilling the responsibility. They are here only to rule. But they should remind one thing, even rulers like Pharaoh and Namrood had a downfall. Believe me, our rulers have to answer one day.

Mohenjo Daro- Trailer Review by Shoby

Mohenjo Daro- Trailer Review by Shoby

Have you ever thought what lives would have been looked like before our existence. I am sure many of us must be wondering about the same. Unfortunately we cant get 110% correct feel of the same but here we have the film maker who is known for making period sagas. Ashutosh Gowariker who stunned everyone by making one of the biggest sagas of Bollywood with Amir Khan "Lagaan" and later on made yet another impressive movie Jodha Akbar with Hrithik Roshan. Where Lagaan was based on the era of British Raj in Indo-Pak subcontinent, he went further in past with Jodha Akbar and showcased Mughals era in a very authentic manner. If this much history was not sufficient, he decided to take all of us in a past, no one could have envisaged in Bollywood. Before British raj, before Mughals, before Christ, even before Buddha, there was Mohenjo Daro. Here is Ashutosh Gowariker presenting the bygone era starring Hrithik Roshan in lead.

Hrithik Roshan is looking stunning as usual. His dialogue delivery has that authentic power in every sequence that will surely leaves an unforgettable impact upon the viewers. The trailer of Mohenjo Daro explicitly relies on three major thing, solid presence of Hrithik Roshan, excellent art direction & an awesome sound track by legendary musician Sir AR Rehman.

To me it is one hell of a task to showcase an era for which we do not have sufficient information available at our hands. It remains to be seen how Ashutosh has managed to get the things done in the right manner in totality. Nevertheless this trailer has surely risen the expectations. It does ask for more.

Piyal Saaz Ayamal Raza (Episode 1)- Review by Shoby

Piyal Saaz (Episode 1) Ayamal Raza - Review by Shoby

Crying sky, jolting thunders, enchanting lightening and one decrepit existent near a Banyan tree. "Zulekha Bee se poocho. us ne kiyo kaha tha", "WOH RAHMAN hai, RAHEEM hai"... What an opening sequence that sets up the right tone for something cult. I fastened the seat belt as the inaugural sequence made be get ready for something big, something more interesting to come. Writer of acclaimed Taveez e Hubb, Aymal Raza starts her brand new novel Piyal Saaz with this chill creating & thrilling scene.

Unlike his daily routine, Basil has an early morning rise that day which comes as a pleasant surprise to Nano. While Basil recalls what stuff he does in the daily routine, it reminds me of my own roster... Hum dono waqaey bht kaam kartey hain) :-)

Nano being an artist owns a shop at Anarkali where decor material is prepared from the stuff like jute, silver etc. Basil & Yashaar two brothers, both odd of each other. If Yashar was a thorough settled professional, an established Psychiatrist, Basil on the other hand is more of a non serious, taking the things for-granted sort of guy with an aim to build up a big huge business setup. As he prepares for France tour with Yashaar, Basil extends his hand to assist Nano in making the vase. See, how beautifully Aymal creates magic through her word. Sensitive yet solid:

Jute ko bari ehtayat se lagana parta hai... pehley is ke sath rishta banana parta hai...

Meanwhile Banyan tree is silent. silent as it has nothing to answer to that old personality sitting nearby. Forget the banyan tree, even there is no response of the screams of that old being from the sky. Sada e Bashar aasman ke paar to jati thi per Nida e Sultani wapis nahi ati thi.

Story moves to France where Zimel is shown crying at Seine River. A bunch of thoughts are triggering her mind and they are sufficient to make her gloomy. She recalls the memory of Sadeem Uncle (a very close friend of her father) who died of Blood Cancer. She recalls how he used to lover her. One day just before his death, he said, "Dua karo Zimel... Mere samney dua karo... Meri Sehat ke liye nahi Zimel... Meri bakhshish ke liye dua karo"... He asked her to pray for his repentance. He wanted her desperately to pray for him. He wanted her to pray that ALLAH forgives him and then he died... leaving her in deep sorrow.

After few months, Zimel started getting a bit relaxed but one night she once again wake up while having a haunted dream. She rushed towards her mother's room as her father was not home but what she witnessed there was much more haunting than the dream. Her mother was close to Yashb uncle (her father's friend). Later on, her mother left her & her father for Yashb and consequently her father got a cardiac arrest. Aymal depicts the mental condition of her father in such an authoritaitive manner, "Woh ab dad mein hi mom dad dono talash karney lagi per dad mein dad bhi mushkil se hi mojood rahay they".

Her father has lost the interest in life and became alcoholic. So she decides to have him diagnosed by the top most psychiatrist Dr. Yashaar who happens to be visiting France for a conference. She takes her father to meet Dr Yashaar and in between the way, luck made her meet Basil or should I say, Basil gets to meet her.

Back near the banyan tree, she is still sitting somewhere and uttering out luod, "Humyun Bhayya, Oh Lala!" "Inteqaam ka kala motiya ankhon mein uter aey to bohat zeyada khoon'baha ada karna parta hai". Looks like she is waiting anxiously for a revenge in sheer desperation. She has been waiting for the justice which needs to be done. Justice that only GOD can do.

Basil comes close to Zimel as a part of her father's (Zeyan) cure. Recovery of her father from this dark mental stage is almost impossible as Aymal writes, "Tehtashaoor andheron ko samait leney ka aadi ho jaey to shaoor bhi roshniyon se nalaan rehney lagta hai".

Giving us an insight from the epiosdes of past, Aymal tells us that Nigaar, Yashb, Sadeem & Zeyan are class follows in a university and due to an incident (read misconduct by Zeyan) Nigaar feels quite a grievance for him and that is why she supports another candidate in the university union presidential elections. She deals with him in a very irreverence manner while he was addressing to his supporters in the university hall. She disrespects his family and he is enraged. Consequently, he made personal pictures of Hassan & Nigaar public in campus notice board.

Things gets uglier as he attempts to abduct her in the university, however he fails while doing so. She humiliates him once again and among all these unpleasant scenarios, there comes as a shocker. Zeyan fells in love with her. He even sends his mother to her house with a formal proposal.

As this was the introductory episode of the Piyala Saaz, Aymal has tried to kept the things pretty simpler. While giving us a brief introduction of all the characters and main story-line she has tried to embed the philosophy in a minimal composition and that has gone quite well with the proceedings.

Good thing about Aymal's writings are her bang on monologues that she produces after every other minute. They not only make the reader glued to the read but also explains the ongoing in an altogether different ambience.

Aymal's narrative is very impressive. A few of the dialogues that she has written in the pilot episode deserves a standing ovation. This shows her command over the subject matter. As I stated earlier, Aymal has utilised the philosophical treatment in a very low volumes in this episode, however I believe she is rightful in doing so, as she has paved a very solid way for upcoming episodes.

It would be interesting to see how she unveils the central plot of the story and a couple of upcoming episodes will surely tell the power of her writing.

Ramzan Dukaan Transmission... Real Spirit of Ramzan Is Gone- Article by Shoby

Ramzan Dukaan Transmission... Real Spirit of Ramzan Is Gone- Article by Shoby

I entered the room just after Aftaar where my younger (11 years old) brother was watching a very popular Ramzan Transmission which he told me was one of the best being on air. Without naming the TV channel & anchor, let me give you a glimpse of what was actually happening there in the show which was supposed to be a noble show considering it to be attached with name of holy month of Ramzan.

Host: Agar tum naach ke dikhao ge to main tumhain bike du ga (I shall give you a bike if you show me your dance moves)... Hearing this, the participant started dancing like he was born to dance and that too in front of hundreds of people present at the studio while thousands watching live on TV. Watching him dance like a crazy, a few others (with mix ages & some of them even with beards & looking religious) joined him in the dance and there it started a hoo-la-la for no reason whatsoever. After a few minutes, the host (full of wickedness & arrogance in his eyes) almost scolded the singer & ordered him to stop the song. Afterwards he gave few smart phones to all the other dances whereas bike was presented to the first participant as per commitment.

To tell you honestly I have not watched even a single complete show on any channel in this Ramzan but what I come across through Social Media, it is enough to prove that we as a nation have declined badly as far as our moral, cultural, ethical & most importantly religious values are concerned. At one channel, they are inviting female guests to touch & lift creepy animals and on another place, they are asking women & men to sing, dance or to utter tongue twisters & to perform various other stupid activities that have no relationship with Islam & Ramzan by any mean. You literally feel that morality is taking the last sighs in these sows being aired on national TV channels.

Now what is this??? Can any sane person clarifies what sort of Ramzan transmission is this. As a reasonable respected Muslim & Pakistani, can we justify our deeds??? Is it what Ramzan teaches us & is this what we were supposed to do in Ramzan.

Ramzan, a month full of blessings. Ramzan which is considered to be the most pious month of the year. Ramzan which is the month associated with ALLAH HIMSELF. Ramzan which was bestowed upon us so that we may increase our prayers & ibaadat so that we may become pious. Ramzan which is considered to be the spring of reciting QURAN PAK. But alas, we literally forgot what the actual meaning of Ramzan is. We have lost the true spirit of this sacred month.

When I was young, I have been watching such great people hosting Ramzan transmission on national TV channel with utmost grace. The primary objective of this transmission was not only to synchronize you with the holiness of the month but was also to provide us with the doze of information & entertainment in just the right volumes. There were religious scholars who used to spread true face of Islam highlighting the spirits of brotherhood and focusing on love, peace & harmony. They used to enhance knowledge by providing information related to the religion & other important stuff. And now this all is converted into shows crazy for ratings.

Now we witness hosts with no or very little Islamic information, guests who are not allowed to speak what they really are capable of or what should have been said in these days, audience which I am sorry to say tries its level best to prove themselves worse than beggars. And this is infecting our coming generations. I shall repeat we are heading towards nowhere as far as our moral & religious values are concerned and I am afraid our coming generation  will be spoiled watching these senseless & meaningless shows. Let me tell you these programs are doing no good for the public and they are just exploiting the hungry nature of human creed. They are pulling out the beggars embedded within them.

For one moment, if we go with their mindset that we are helping the poor public and making the best out of Ramzan by giving these gifts as charity in these shows, my point is, is it necessary to murder the due respect of men & women participating in your shows? Cant you arrange some sober some graceful little quiz segments or something like this which not only helps the public to increase their knowledge but also become a solid & respectful reason to give some gifts or presets to the audience. I mean what is the creative team of these shows thinking before mapping the stupid ideas being implemented now a days.

Someone has to stop it unless it becomes out of control. Someone has to bring out some positive thing which can turn the table around. Someone has to tone down this war of ratings which is compelling media houses to produce these meaningless shows. Someone has to produce something positive, something entertaining without compromising the quality & without disrespecting the audience & without deterring the holiness of Ramzan. Till the said time comes, I am disappointed.

Namal (Nimrah Ahmed) Episode 23- Novel Review by Shoby

Namal (Nimrah Ahmed) Episode 23- Novel Review by Shoby

Just a few weeks back I came up with an idea of correlating characters of various English dramas (seasons) with the characters of our very own Namal and here I am reading episode 23rd (Morchaal) of Namal which is started by Nimrah with one of the dialogues from episode Buckle Up of Season Scandal (Quite an interesting co-incidence :-) ).

Just to give the readers an insight about Scandal it is one of the most celebrated American political thriller TV series and it mainly focuses on the work & life of Olivia Pope, staff of her crisis management firm and the staff of the epicenter of world power i.e. USA's White House. Buckle Up is the 19th episode of Season 5. Episode "Bukle Up" is written by Michelle Lirtzman and these lines quoted by Nimrah are no doubt the highlight of the whole episode.

These lines show the desperation of the protagonist who wants the other to be rescued by any hook or crook. Its no more about being good or bad, its about fighting the reason which makes you sad and turns your future dark. You just need a mere glance (may be a single one-liner) which you can quote to yourself, which has the tendency of putting a tap on your back so that you may get a little inspiration which may leads you to new heights of motivation. This is the secret of success. This is how you bring yourself out of the troubled waters.

Leave every scandal aside ( :p ) and lets focus back on our prime concern Morchaal (The House of Ants). I must tell you it is the most attractive title of the whole Namal series till date. Why??? Because it is very much relatable to the term "Namal" and it surely brings all the intriguing checks back on you as far as proceedings are concerned.

Yousafs are as usual doing the regular stuff in the bungalow occupied with lush green vining plants when the door bell rings and Faris is back. Leaving the umbrage behind, desperation of sister's love speaks straight away, "Mera bhai kahan hai"? Sam calls her Zumer (thinks as if now he has the licence to call her by her name as he knows the secrets & all). Faris tell them that Sadi will be back soon. Zumer further clarifies that as per his meeting with Faris, Saadi wants justice and to her it is the valid stance, although Faris does not agree on the same.

Hashim asks Jawahiraat to keep a distance from Haroon and she reciprocates that whatever she has been doing, her primary objective is to bring Aabi & Hashim close and to build a relationship between these two. Nature has started playing the role now as Sheru is now regretting the attempt of murder he made to kill Saadi. He calls Zumer and she briefly explains what jealousy can do at its prime best. It can even drag you to the position where you can claim one's life. Dreadful sin...

Its a morning of February, full of fog as Nimra states, "Thori door tak basaarat jati, phir us ke baad baseerat khatam ho jati"... Wow. What a way to tell the readers whats going on.

The name plate saying "Morchaal" brings some memories back. Faris & Zartasha alone in the bridle room and Zartasha feeling the usual bridal unsures and he builds on her confident when Zumer enters the scene for a brief moment. One moment that had the capacity to turn the table round. Meanwhile Waris warns Faris that he should keep his family at a distance from Hashim as he may reveal the secret of his earlier relationship with Zumer.

In Colombo, Kamuni & Rupa are furious over the incidents happened earlier and asks Saadi to leave the house. He has no other option so Saadi is again homeless & jobless now.

Zumer visits Dr. Qasim and his receptionist tells her that someone came and beat the hell of out of doctor. She guessed it right that he was no one other than Faris, however he asks the receptionist not to interfere and forgets the issue as he might get into troubles himself. (Honestly at times, I feel Zumer has that beautiful sense of humor that if she focuses on same, she can bring a lot more than a rigid, rough & rude Lawyer... Please take a note Nimrah) :p

This is something to be written in gold for sure. "Bivi apney shoher ki aina daar hoti hai. Tum us ko kaho woh khoobsurat hai, wo her roz nikherti jaey gi"... A fact explained beautifully by Nimra.

Faris asks Sara (Waris's wife) either to leave the country or be a witness in Sadi's case. Sara tells him that Col. Khawar knows about her presence at the time of incident.

Shoby updated his location at Facebook (Foodly Everafter) with Faris Ghazi & Zumer. Zumer asks him he has beaten someone and Faris unintentionally tells her that he has smacked just a few kicks & punches to Saadi... Saadi... Ha ha ha (Literally LOL).

Namal readers khush ho jao... Apparently Jaan chutti tumharey Faris Ghazi ki... While romance was all over in the air, Hashim says "I am in love with you" to Aabdar... But wait its a typical girly reply here, "Main tumhari bohat achi dost hoon or dost hi rehna chahti hoon" (If I were there, I would have surely said, Go to hell)...

Just like a typical Pakistani/ Indian film, someone enters the territory of an independent state as if its not a big deal at all i.e. without any hindrance. Haider Humayun Khan (aka Saadi Yousaf) Welcome to Pakistan.

Like they say in the west Thanks GOD, its Friday, it is an official Biryani day for housewives in Pakistan. And what is this Nimrah. After enhancing the blood pumping pace, what you have presented in front of Yousaf's door... Hashim... Not on Maam, seriously not on. Anyways, the sentence "Hashim bhai aey ain" is itself quite satisfactory for many of us... Right na... ;-)

Faris reveals they all know that he was the one who did every wrong and Hashim is simply not jolted at all. After-all he is Hashim (Dr. Hannibal Lecters). Hashim Kardaar has moved on and he does not want any other fight now. Although he is ready to face the punishments of his ill doings & false deeds but he obviously in no mood to start another combat. I believe its one unique  thing about Nimrah's writing that she plants the most anticipated moments in such an easy environment that the expected after shocks are not felt until they are really coming on and the same happens here. Who can confess about his mistakes (read sins) in such a comfortable manner.

I cant believe it. We witnessed the last episode with multiple scenes at one moment, this time its a two frame sequence brilliantly narrated by Nimrah. At one place, Faris is clarifying why he confirmed Hashim that they all know about the reality and simultaneously on the other hand, Hashim is beating Nosherwan Kardaar citing the reason that he has destroyed everything as Yousafs are dragging them into courts with all the homework done. Hashim is angered and furious but above all he is yet again ready for the battle but this time here is a difference, someone else is also ready to confront him from the front... Faris Ghazi... Kudos Nimrah... Kudos...

Things are moving in such an unimaginable pace now. Hashim orders all the bank accounts & properties of Yousafs to either be ceased or to be purchased whereas recently returned Saadi has uploaded a video on a video sharing site where he has revealed everything about his murder attempt & abduction... Game over Kardaars... Game is over now. One thing is remaining to be seen, Is martaba Hashim kaisey sambhaley ga.

Faris was already aware of what Hashim is capable of doing after knowing everything. Therefore, he has already transferred all his assets to an Off Sure bank account... "Off sure" ka lafz parh ke hansna nahi Pakistanio... LOL :p ;-)

Looks like a ground battle is on the cards. Nimrah Ahmed is no different from the likes of Alan Ameen (notable action director of Bollywood) in this regard. What a game played by Faris, he has managed camera clicks & photo shoots to fight against guns. Smiles at the end of solid blood pumping scene. Morchaal ki choontiyan Ha ha ha...

Aabi meets Faris to tell him about the proposal of Hashim. Meanwhile Sadi "sorts of" meet with Nudrat in a Grocery store in disguise. This cute si Aabdaar is seriously a big bomb embedded in a small packet. What a trick used by her to blackmail Jawahiraat so that she could persuade Hashim not to marry her. Bravo... Yet another term invented by Namra Ahmed... Zumerised... Ha ha ha

Please someone tell Nudrat if criteria of being "Begherat Aulaad" is to avoid/forget putting refilled bottles in refrigerator, I believe 99.99% youth of Pakistanis can easily be termed as same.

Nimra deserves applaud, Dua sab se bara catalyst hai. Trude indeed... True in every aspect. Subhana RABI Yal AALA... Woh baar baar tasbeehat ki tadaad bhool rahi thi, so un ko duhraey ja rahi thi. ALLAH ke RASOOL PAK (asws) apney NAWASEY IMAM HASSAN (asws) IMAM HUSSAIN (asws) ko Namaz parhtey huey bhi utha letey they... And Saadi is back. A reunion that one can never forget. A reunion that one can expect only in a high voltage live performing opera theater. A reunion that demands every clap on its praise. Nimrah Ahmed writes a stunning sequence.

Foodly Everafter has three guests, Faris, Zumer and an uninvited one Col. Khawar. He provokes Faris to kill him and after an emotionally tiring heated discussion among the three, Faris releases him and lets him go. Just because he is not a murderer.

I Love you so much... I really do. Words that came out directly from the heart of a woman who is truly madly deeply in love of her ever loving & ever caring husband. Some confessions are felt like a charm- a magic trick that can take you in another world altogether... And this one is of no difference.

The very next day, I love you has been converted into I'll kill you and off course this is Zumer for you.

And Aabdaar was right. She has done something that can bring Faris to her within few moments without giving him an ample chance to think twice. Aabi has commited suicide.

After many episodes this one was a real pacey. Everything happened in such a fast speed that even I was not having any chance to think which incident to put in the review and which can easily be left. This episode has worked wonders to the readers in many ways. Saadi is back to Yousafs. Hashim is all set to rescue Sheru and his own self. Faris and Zumer are ready to battle it out against the mighty powerful Kardaars and yes we have that one twits that is pertinent to be mentioned Aabi has committed the suicide and her father wants to know who is this guy for whom she has done that.
