16 December, A Morning Full of Tears... Article by Shoby

December 16, 2014, when mothers prepared their beloved children for their schools. Fathers were also in a hurry making sure that their children would not become late, as it was a question of their future. It was a silent morning in Peshawar, KPK, and everyone was going to their destinations. No one knew what is their actual destination.

Early day, when the knowledge was just making her wings fly in Army Public School (APS, Peshawar), a bunch of beasts with a makeover of human beings entered the school and started their barbaric massacre. For them, spreading terror was the only religion and killing innocents was the prime objectives.

In this bloody massacre, 140 odd innocents, including students of very tender age (juniors & seniors) to teachers & principal (females & males), librarian and other staff members of APS were murdered brutally by man looking beasts. They played with the blood to satisfy their inhuman desire and left all of us speechless.

For the next few days, the whole nation went into a state of shock, grief and uncertainty. Afterwards, our pain & grief converted into anger and we all started chanting just one slogan "Kill The Terrorists". We wanted revenge from our enemies who did not even care about our innocent kids. Those who just not only ruined hundreds of houses but also shattered the dreams of many. They made us uncertain and worried us about the future of our own lives and ultimately we all went on to think what actually is going to happen to our dearest homeland, if it continues to stay in the hands of these evil forces.

This was the time when we all learnt a lesson. A lesson which we were unable to learn for more than half of the century. A lesson that kids in the small coffins taught us. The lesson was Unity. We could only fight and beat our worst enemy who was in the form of terrorists by being one, by being untied. So under the command of our brave army especially our Army Chief Sir Gen. Raheel Shareef, we decided as a nation that we are not going to spare the culprits. That was the time, when our Army, our government and every patriotic Pakistani stood on one single page, to defend our country.

Army Chief made it very clear that we will do everything to finish the terrorism from our Pak Land and we started the major grand operation against Terrorists with the name "Operation Zarb e Azb". Our army literally destroyed the backbone of terrorism and Alhamdo LILLAH, they brought back the peace and prosperity in the country up to a great extent.

As today we are commemorating the great sacrifice of our innocent APS Martyrs, I just want to say that according to Quran Pak, these innocent Martyrs are still alive. They are alive in her hearts and will always remain in our memories forever. They have won the battle against terrorism with their only weapon of knowledge, their books and pens. Our Prophet Hazrat MOHAMMAD MUSTAFA (saww) made education obligatory on every Muslim and our innocents fought for this purpose and made us all proud.

Government has initiated such a great step by naming 122 schools in the names of the APS Martyrs. They deserve it truly. I wish if we could include the lessons from their great sacrifice in the syllabus of our academics so that they also live forever in writing and our children could learn what we have paid for the mission of education. Our mission was big and our lose was bigger.

Through this platform I also want to add that we Pakistanis have become the major victim of this war against terrorism. We have sacrificed more than 85000 innocents in this war. These terrorists have not only attacked our APS Peshawar, they have also attacked our Hazara community in Quetta and we shouldered more than 100, 100 coffins in a row. They attacked Majaalis o Juloos e IMAM HUSSAIN (asws) in internal Sindh, Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and also attacked celebration ceremonies of Meelaad e MOHAMMAD MUSTAFA (saww). They murdered more than 85000 innocents Pakistanis in Masaajid, in Markets, in Churches and many other places.

We all Pakistanis are now united against Terrorism and we have faith on our ALLAH that by HIS Grace & Help, our brave army will surely kick these terrorists out of our Pak Land.

In the end, I want to share my poem which is a tribute to all the Shaheeds of Pakistan, including APS Peshawar Martyrs and my brother Syed Fayaz Hussain Shah (advocate) & nephews Ghazi and Hamza, who were also killed by terrorists in Rawalpindi. May ALLAH bless Pakistan and protect it from all enemies. (Ameen).

  1. The greatest peace our great God bestowed upon us is that those innocent spirits are in heaven and brutality will never go unjudged as truthful judgement is the excellency of God.
