The Flash Season 1 (TV Series)... TV Show Review by Shoby

The Flash Season 1 (TV Series)... TV Show Review by Shoby

World has always been in danger since right from the inception of time and courtesy some baddies, people have always cherished those wonderful persons with supernatural abilities to come and rescue them. These super heroes may not exist in reality but the mere feeling of having them in the comics have always given people suitable dose of entertainment & hope. Many of the characters were formulated in the effort and The Flash is one of them.

In the year 2014, channel The CW started airing the TV version of this super hero series titled as The Flash starring Grant Gustin as Barry Allen (Flash). The first season of the show consisted of 23 episodes. Series also saw Candice Patton as Iris West, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon / Vibe, Tom Cavanagh as Harrison Wells and Jesse L. Martin as Joe West.

The first season tells us how Barry Allen became The Flash. An experiment at STARS Lab initiated by Dr Wells along with his team of scientists goes wrong and results in the particle acceleration which ultimately effects some persons and leave them with super powers & abilities. These persons effected by particle acceleration were termed as Meta-Humans and one of these meta humans was Barry who gets super sonic speed and becomes The Flash.

Barry finds other Meta Humans with the help of Dr. West, Cisco, Dr. Snow and the police detective Joe West and fights them as they become dangerous for Central City. In the background, it is explained that Barry's mother was killed by some lightening man (aka Reverse Flash) when Barry was a kid. Unfortunately Barry's father was held responsible of killing his murder and had to serve a life long punishment behind bars. Barry's ultimate objective is to find who was the actual killer of his mother in order to get justice for his father.

Highlight of the season was the points when we gets to know who the Reverse Flash is in actual. The twist gave me goose bumps when the future says something existence of The Flash. The finale part of the season was also interesting as The Flash does what he was (apparently) not supposed to do.

Overall story line of the show was fantastic with every new episode coming up with a short novel story of its own. As far as acting is concerned, every one was almost flaw less. As it was a sci-fi action series, you can expect some heavy dose of scientific reasoning & concepts and I seriously liked it. The show has a bit of resemblance with Fringe in a number of aspects.
