Watching a KJo movie has always been a very exciting event. Expect nothing but a lot of crackers and fireworks in the form of music, masty, dance, emotions, melodrama, tears, smiles and on top of all this, a bag full of celebrities and biggies of b town. Same is what U can find in his latest directorial venture Student of the year, except a lot of big names. Well one big QUESTION, can U expect a KJo movie without Shahrukh Khan. Honestly speaking I can NOT. And it came to me as a big surprise, when SOTY was launched earlier without having the name of SRK attached to it as an actor, although produced by SRK's Red Chilies Entertainment and Dharma Productions.

If it’s a KJo movie, it bounds to be one of the hottest selling item of the year. Off course it was among the most anticipated and much awaited flick of the year and box office results have depicted the same. Honestly, to me, My Name is Khan was his best attempt till date and yes, even after watching SOTY, I still reckon MNIK is his best directorial venture.  But what about the SOTY? Let’s check, does Karan chose the right path and made a right move after so convincing MNIK.

My honest advice, do NOT expect something out of this world or path breaking cinema here. It is an out and out entertainer. Two best friends converting into foes and then battling out to claim the title of Student of the year. A rivalry to get one girl, the love of their life. And a lot of dance, masty, music and colors blended somewhere in between.

On the whole, SOTY is a very calculated risk. Risk, as it is the launching pad for not one or two but three brand new people and that too as a lead. Sidharth, Varun and Aliya. New generation of some of already set bollywood's biggies. And I called it a "calculated" one, as Karan has put up a tremendous effort to bring the kind of cinema, that people love to watch now a days. SOTY depends all on the shoulders of Karan and only Karan.

This movie is a treat for all those who love movies based on high schools/colleges and those who likes to see coming of age cinema. It has a a reasonable sound track, comprising of a couple of chartbusters. Radha and Disco Deewane have all the energy to make your feet groove, while Ishq Wala Love (although no great lyrics) can find someone as a fan in the audience. Special appearances are must in a KJo movie and SOTY is no different. you will get to see super talented Kajol and Boman Irani along with ace choreographers Farah Khan and Vaibhavi Merchant in some very short cameos.

Although to me, it was a rather forgettable script, with nothing so exceptional but what really put the mode on high is the treatment. Karan is the master of the art and he has proved it yet again. want to have another flavor in this Eid, go and watch Student of the year. Recommended for all the youngsters out there.

U want to see something unique... World frm the eyes of a fly. Infact SWOT of a fly in the true sense, watch Eega.

Entertainment at its best. Cinema that really deserves a standing ovation. Makhi is one experience that U'll never ever 4get. Script that holds U like a web.

We have seen movies on reincarnation earlier but there a dead man takes birth as a man again. Here in Eega, its a different affair altogether. Guy takes birth in form of a fly to take revenge.

Vfx effects deserve a real applaud. To me, the real hero of the movie is the animated fly. Right frm the begining to the end, Eega is all abt the journey of entertainment.

Director and his team of animation, has put off a puller. Its unique and sweet. Its the modern cinema at its best. Some sequences really gets hold off your breath. Especially the earlier evolution of the fly, where it flies and roams around in the water and in a park, all those scenes are truely breath taking. And back ground score only adds to the sweetness and grendour.

It deserves a million likes. Highly recommended for all those, who love to watch real experimental cinema. Eega is a winner.

Dont waste even a minute of ur precious time... I m serious. Aiyya is the biggest flop of the yr and rightly so. She did Hum Tum and I became her fan. She did black and I thought she is going to be the artist of the century. But Aiyya seems to be her desparate attempt to bring hit out of anywhere. A v weak script bundled with non digetable item numbers. Much disappointed. An actress of such a calibre, Rani, should never had said yes to Aiyya. I reject it completely.

Reviving International Cricket in Pakistan

Yes we are crazy for cricket. Yes we are hungry for cricket. Yes we are the greatest cricketing nation of the world. We are Imran Khan, Javed Miandad, Abdul Qadir, Zaheer Abbas, Waseem Akram, Waqar Younis, Rameez Raja, Inzamam ul Haq, Mohammad Yousaf, Younis Khan, Mushtaq Ahmad, Saqlain Mushtaq, Shoaib Akhtar, Shahid Afridi, Saeed Ajmal, Aleem Dar and much more. We are the former World Champs (1992), T20 World Champs (2009) and current Asian Champs (2012). Don’t worry if we don’t have international cricket in our country since last 3 and a half years, we are still one of the biggest cricketing nation.

After a gap of almost 3 and a half years, international players are ready to rock the Pakistani fields. Insha ALLAH, Pakistani grounds will surely witness the greats of the game once again. ICC has ordered PCB NOT to use the name of "World 11" for the team of international players, as it is their copy right name. They may be right on their part but what does it show. Another point of view is that they are giving a signal to the world that ICC really does NOT want the revival of international cricket in Pakistan. Why? Well there is a big question mark.

But leave all negative things aside, we are happy as international cricket is once again coming back to Pakistan and we, the Pakistanis welcome it from the core of our hearts. We want to show the world that we love cricket and we love peace. 

Some seasoned names from the cricket world like Sanath Jayasuriya and Farvez Mahroof from Srilanka, Ricardo Powell and Jermaine Lawson from WI, Andre Nel and Nantie Hayward from South Africa and many starts from Pakistan and Afghanistan are taking part in this prestigious event. Legendary player and former captain of Srilanka Sanath Jayasuriya said, ""I am happy to be part of these matches," Jayasuriya told reporters on his arrival.” It depends on country to country (whether they tour Pakistan) but in my opinion Pakistan is a safe country."

All roads are going to National Stadium Karachi, where world witness a great cricket extravaganza.

Well, can’t believe I am writing a review for an RGV's product in these words and that too which is a sequel of a very successful predecessor Bhoot (2004). Name of RGV is synonymous to dark movies. Be it thrillers or horrors, its always his cup of tea but STOP, let me assure you in the very first step that he has really failed to leave an impact by this product. Sorry to say that Bhoot should not be returned in this manner.

Just asking you, what is the recipe for a successful horror movie? First of all, a big strong story that can hold you and really press up your mind to make you think, what else is coming now. What really is missing in this attempt was the thrill and horror. In fact I enjoyed the inspector sequence much more than the whole movie. Well, read it again I enjoyed the inspector sequence much more than the whole movie. Why because there was enough sit-com maneuvering in the horror. This film based on horror genre was much more entertaining when that funny sequence of inspector stepped in.

Let me summarize the story, "a haunted house" and you must be wondering "stop this crap", was it really a different story and my response will be "Was I successful in finding a STORY in the whole episode of Bhoot Returns. No chills, no goose bumps and no real horror attempt. Bhoot Returns is a total opposite of its first installment.

One word, don’t try this experience at your home or anywhere else. Otherwise, you might start thinking why such an acclaimed name like RGV attempted this.

1920 Evil Returns and Rush

Sound tracks of 1920 Evil Returns and Rush are out. Although, euphoria of JTHJ is still on but some real nice tunes are in the playlist... Some seasoned names like Adnan  Sami, Sonu, KK etc are on board. Songs like Mumkin Nahi, Javedan Hai, Apna Mujhe Tu Laga and Chup Chup k are nice fresh melodies. Its raining melodies this season.

What comes in your mind if I say, AR Rehman or Gulzaar sb. If U are an artist or if ur aesthetic sense is up to the mark, just one word... GREATS. They need no introduction and rightly so. Their earlier works in their respective areas have already established them. Gulzaar sb is not only a great lyricist but also without any doubt, the best poet of today’s era and same goes for AR Rehman, the best musician..... I would love to call him a magician. Attach the names of Shahrukh Khan and Yash Chopra, and U might think what else is remaining to complete the list of legends.......

Here comes the much awaited sound track of the year. Jab Tak Hai Jaan, which is apparently the last directorial venture of Yash Chopra. Dont talk about expectations here as they are already kissing the skies. AR Rehman and Gulzaar have given us some unforgettable sound tracks. To name a few, Bombay, Dil Se, Guru, Raavan, Roja, Yuva and the list goes on. So what does JTHJ has in it for U. Believe me, its a bunch of some real melodious tunes and writings.

Starting off with the Challa, which is already a rage. Rabbi Shergil and Shahrukh Khan. U might think its a real unique combo but wait, its an affair of its sort. Challa, to me, is the celebration of the pain. Somewhere I was recalling Banjar Hai (from Saathiya), however its an out and out very different. And needless to say, SRK is a darling. Acoustic guitars are doing all what is needed to make it a chartbuster. One sound track that remains forever in your mind even after years.

Well U are not over with the euphoria of Challa, when another beautiful tune starts mesmarizing you. Saans has written Gulzaar sb all over it. Just like he penned Bekaran for Bharadwaj's Saat Khoon Maaf, saans is simply out of this world. Shreya has done it once again. Sweet and passionate voice. One can only imagine, what SRK's presence in the song will do....... Oh, its going to be a lethal.

Ishq Shava is a high octane number, which one loves to listen in the car with the beats going on.

Heer is a ver nice number. AR Rehman has beautifully captured the strength of Harshdeep's voice.

Jiya Re is Maya Maya (Guru) and Dhunki (Mere Brother Ki Dulhan) of JTHJ. It will surely bring some whistles from the front benchers in the cinema, if Anushka delivers some awesome dance steps in this number.

Is there any need to describe title track of JTHJ. NO, simply note. They gave us Dil Ka Rishta (Yuvraaj) and somewhat same genre of music is explored yet again. It’s an awesome experience. Another hit, written all over it.

Saans Reprise and Ishq Dance are nice additions in the album.

Album concludes with what I call a treat for all the SRK's fan. Enough of the filmy lyrics till now. Its time for Aditya Chopra to pen some very beautiful Urdu poetry, this Nazm is a treat. What makes it more special is the husky voice of Super Star SRK.

Overall, this album is a winner of all sorts. Now really can’t wait for the film of the year (may be decade) to come and entertain us. It would be an experience of its own sort.
